LAST STUDENTS STANDING

We don't need to talk about the game. Given the fact that a three point loss to Toledo, at home, while letting up over 90 points is guaranteed to keep us out of the tournament, you can go ahead and ignore basketball for the season.

We do need to talk about the Student Flight, the negative repercussion of the Gold Pass system.

With three minutes to go in the first half:

With less than two minutes to go in the second half:

So, how do you fix the system to punish drop-ins? I mean, sure, I guess it's better than complete no shows...but all this traipsing through Conte just for Syracuse tickets?

  1. I was also thinking about this as everyone left last night, it was frustrating and I told one of my roommates who came and swiped and left that I didn't think very much of that. In the end though it seems like any way of policing leaving early would probably be more hassle than it's worth. And the end of the day a winning product and a buzz around the program is the only thing that's going to boost attendance, but I love the gold pass idea and think it worked. I've been to a lot of very empty basketball games at conte (Clemson last year...) so to see that many students come for Toledo was a success.

  2. Not so subtle subtext, but bingo. Gold Pass got kids there. The court action will make a difference in keeping them.
